Booking Your Safari: Essential Tip


Let's talk logistics now. It is necessary to reserve your permit ahead of time in order to go on a safari in Gir National Park. Here's what you should be aware of:
Online at, permits can be obtained.
For up to six individuals, the permit costs between Rs. 800 and Rs. 1000 for Indian nationals.
For foreigners, the cost for a group of six is between Rs. 5600 and Rs. 7000.
Additionally, you would have to spend between Rs. 2100 and Rs. 2400 for an open SUV and a guide.
For verification, make sure you go to the starting place 30 minutes before your safari. Before issuing the safari permits, they will verify the reservation maker's identity with their ID.
Remember, private vehicles are not allowed in the jungle, and each jeep can carry a maximum of six people.


Embark on a Majestic Safari at Gir National Park


The Gir National Park is open to visitors between mid October and early June, when the weather is good for a visit from December to March in which chances of seeing wildlife are very high, notably Asiatic lions at their peak. During the monsoon season, which runs from June to mid October, the park is closed because of lion breeding. To explore the diversity of the ecosystem of the park and to witness its magnificent inhabitants in their natural habitat, adventurers may embark on exhilarating jeep safaris offered in two shifts: a morning session from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and an afternoon session from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
